  Clinical Duties: • Management of the walk-in clinic and the inpatient facility. • Conduct pre-placement and periodic medical examinations of UN personnel. • Provide health education to UN and non-UN staff members including peacekeepers. This includes training on mental health, Ebola, Sexual Health including HIV, and other communicable and non-communicable diseases. • Offer comprehensive immunization services. • Address work environment and occupational health issues. • Assessment of staff members for MEDEVAC and CASEVAC. • Organize and deliver CPR and first aid training to the staff. • On call for emergencies whenever they arise. Medico Administrative Duties: • Liaise with UN-Military Medical Units in the mission and host-nation medical facilities to fulfil common health promotion and prevention goals. • Ensure the United Nations established policies and procedures regarding medical clearances, sick leave and medical evacuations are followed. • Deputize for the supervising Medical Officer during his absence. • In collaboration with the Contingent Owned Equipment (COE) Team, to conduct inspections of the medical facilities, medical equipment, and high-risk health areas of the UN military/police contributing countries. In addition, I give recommendations during debrief sessions and follow up on their implementation. • Conduct health inspection of high-risk health areas within the UN compound such as the cafeteria. Supervisory Administration: • Manage day-to-day mission medical support operations by ensuring availability of supplies and proper functioning of medical equipment. • Ensure that appropriate training programs are implemented to maintain and develop the medical capabilities.
