Southwest Solutions is the holding company of Southwest Counseling Solutions and Southwest Housing Solutions. Our mission is to improve the health and well-beingof individuals and families while making southwest Detroit a great place to live, work and play. We believe that people thrive where there is a system of support that promotes recovery and improves quality of life.Southwest Solutions’ family of corporations offers an array of services including: Family Services; Housing and Economic Development; and Civic Engagement.Since 1972, Southwest Solutions has been transforming lives and helping change neighborhoods in southwest Detroit and other communities. We recognize that an individual’s problems—whether mental illness, poverty, substance abuse, homelessness or illiteracy—are often interrelated and multi-faceted. Helping an individual to become and remain healthy, stable and self-reliant often requires a range of supportive services. That led us to develop an array of counseling, financialliteracy, workforce development, early childhood, and family literacy services for individuals and families. It also led to the development of Southwest Housing Solutions, initially as a means to provide safe and affordable housing for those with disabilities, and later as a mechanismfor transforming the neighborhood. Currently, Southwest Solutions in conjunction with its many community partners is changing the economic landscape of southwest Detroit, helping to build financial independence and a safe thriving neighborhood in which to live and do business.
