  While employed with Xeta I also rejoined Strasburg Volunteer Fire and Rescue. I was a lieutenant in which I was resposible for vehical maintenance and upkeep along with equipment inventory.After that I became assistant Chief where I was responsible for day to day operations and assiating the chief in his absence. In 2001 I took the position of Chief where I continued in my resposibilities along with budgets, staffing, logistics, operations, maintain inventory, design and implementtion of intra-agency emergency management, Homeland security.   Prior to joining Xeta and returning from the Army I along with my wife and parents owned a ranch in the San Luis Valley where we raised alfala, oats, and brew barley. Along with the farming aspect, we raised 200-300 cow/calf pairs that consisted of mainly a commercial herd and a small percentage being registered.
