I consulted with the wardens and treasurer about methods to increase attendance, stewardship giving, and programs that engage newcomers. Additionally, I formed a social media committee that created an online marketing strategy including launching a Facebook page, a web-based advertising campaign, and crowd-sourced reviews of the church. And I worked with the church leadership to develop new ways to engage the town through interactions with its leaders. I aided the lay leadership by empowering them to grab hold of the church’s vision and see themselves as an entrepreneurial church. And I nurtured the spiritual life and confidence of the congregation through weekly pastoral, inspirational preaching of Christ’s healing powers and the effectiveness of a church praying together. I created a new vision for the spiritual life of the school by changing the style and structure of the three-times-a-week, all-school chapel services.I I also supervised two teachers and taught 50 plus sophomore and senior students per semester. I collaborated with the rector in the primary areas of pastoral care, preaching, and worship leadership for a congregation of 1500+ members with an annual budget of $1.2 million and an endowment of more than $15 million. I also assisted a lay commission in providing $500,000 in grants for the rebuilding of two churches destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. In addition, I oversaw the Christian Education Commission that was responsible for the Church School of 250 children. Created new high school and middle school youth groups. Developed a new curriculum transforming the confirmation program into a year-long rigorous set of classes and a retreat. Show less
