  As the Research and International Programs Intern, I had the opportunity to work remotely for an international academic institution. Though the opportunity was originally in-person, due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of my abroad program to Germany, my internship with the Department of Management and Organization - University of Augsburg offered me a virtual, remote option. During the course of my part-time employment, I was able to create a database of research articles using Microsoft Excel in the area of "the internationalization of higher education." I overcame the learning curve of working with people in a completely different timezone and cultural background. The opportunity improved my proficiency with technology, programs like Zoom and Excel, as well as, improved my ability to locate and summarize peer-reviewed research articles.- Constructed 160 article database that is searchable, sortable, and contains descriptive data on each article- Researched approximately 300 educational articles about "the Internationalization of Higher Education"- Supported research projects and reports within the department – including data collection, literature reviews, copy editing, and the preparation of presentations and spreadsheet reports- Exhibited proficiency in locating peer-reviewed research articles using Google Scholar and other academic institution's libraries- Completed 125 hours of unpaid work

  Throughout my experience as a Branch Manager for College Works Painting, I was able to learn hands on management and sales techniques. The opportunity gave me an inside look into what it is like to start and run your own business without any financial risk. I was able to see all the different aspects of running a business from generating leads, selling projects, managing those projects, and retaining employees. The opportunity as a Branch Manager built a solid foundation that I can build from as I prepare for my future careers in management and sales.-Started and managed a 7-employee business and achieved revenues exceeding $80,000- Managed 23 projects up to $14,000 and averaged over 17% profit margins- Finished 2nd out of 50 Illinois/Indiana managers and maintained a 96% customer satisfaction rating- Oversaw all aspects of marketing, sales, production management, quality control, and customer relations- Presented proposals to clients, negotiated and closed deals, and built valuable relationships

  Beginning as a Lifeguard and working my way up to Pool Manager in three summers gave me the opportunity to learn that hard work and loyalty pay off. By working 50+ hours a week as Pool Manager, I was able to build my leadership skills by managing peers. This allowed me to learn when the right times are to be someones boss or their friend.-Managed 30+ employees, ranging from high school to college students, organizing schedules and creating an atmosphere of accountability-Taught employees the importance of being personable to enhance guest/member experience-Tracked profits and expenses, resulting in daily reports to Jasper City Hall, to ensure proper alignment within the company-Organized community events, working along with the Parks and Recreational department, for customers of all ages
