  The water supply and wastewater schemes of Ganja and Sheki are at present in bad working conditions. Therefore, the Governments of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Government of Switzerland and the Government of Azerbaijan agreed to implement and finance the “Open Program Municipal Infrastructure II” (Ganja and Sheki). The Project aims to improve quality, reliability and sustainability of water supply and sanitation services in the cities of Ganja and Sheki and hence to improve living conditions, raise public health standards and promote economic growth in the country. The Project concerns the reconstruction and extension of the water supply and sewerage systems as well as the wastewater treatment plants of Ganja (430.000 inhabitants) and Sheki (79.000 inhabitants). The project measures are divided into three phases, and therein in a number of separate work contracts for each city • Phase 1: 4 work contracts Ganja + 4 work contracts Sheki • Phase 2: 3 work contracts Ganja + 3 work contracts Sheki • Phase 3: 1 work contracts Ganja + 1 work contracts Sheki Services provided by Expert: • Assistant Resident Engineer during supervision e.g. responsible for project accounts and preparation of IPCs and variation orders. • Daily Site supervision of Works Total Project Value: 230Mio.
