U Journey Ambassador

U Journey is Union College's comprehensive plan for life and learning that occurs beyond the classroom, with particular emphasis on life skills and reflection. The goal is to align a seamless set of experiences for students from the moment they move in until they graduate. As a U Journey Ambassador, my role involves program design, event planning, marketing/communications, and administrative duties. I work closely with the U Journey Steering Board to present ideas for student learning and serve as a part of the sounding board and focus group for U Journey development. In the area of marketing and communications, I design a weekly newsletter called The U Journal, attend events as a representative for the U Journey, and design flyers, posters, and handouts to promote U Journey activities. This involves working closely with a team of 12 writers and designers to ensure that all content is accurate, relevant, and visually appealing. I also contribute my own writing and research on a variety of topics related to economics and finance. As editor, I play a role in managing the newsletter's social media presence and engaging with our readership. Through this role, I've gained valuable experience in project management, communication, and teamwork, as well as a deeper understanding of the current issues and trends in the field of economics.
