      Blake Parham is a Polish based Australian tenor. A young artist at the Lisa Gasteen National Opera School in 2017. He holds a masters degree in music from the Elder Conservatorium University of Adelaide, and a PhD from the University of Sydney. ​ Blake has performed the roles of ‘Toby’ in George Palmer’s Cloudstreet (State Opera of South Australia SOSA - Workshop), ‘Remendado’ in Carmen (Queensland Symphony Orchestra), ‘The Messanger’ in Aida (Australian International Opera - Tour of China), ‘Pedrillo’ in Die Entführung aus dem Serail and ‘Eisenstein’ in Die Fledermaus (Opera Bites), 'The Prologue' and 'Peter Quint' in The Turn of the Screw (Dartington), ‘Basilio’ in Le Nozze di Figaro, ‘Vasek’ in The Bartered Bride, and ‘Pluto’ in Orpheus in the Underworld (Rockdale Opera), ‘Goro’ in Madama Butterfly (Opera Projects, Sydney), and ‘Monostatos’ in Die Zauberflöte (Cover: Opera de Baugé). He has also appeared in the chorus for several productions with SOSA including Moby Dick (Heggie), Hamlet (Dean), and in the 'Lehrbuben' for Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Blake’s concert repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah (Newcastle Cathedral), Dvorak’s Stabat Mater (Illawarra Choral Society), Beethoven's Choral Fantasy (Dartington), Bach’s Cantata BWV182 (Sydney Conservatorium), Walton’s Façade (Vacation Chamber Orchestra – England), Jenkins’ The Armed Man and Gounod’s St Cecelia Mass (Adelaide Philharmonia), Schubert’s Mass in G (Sydney Conservatorium), Mozart’s Requiem (Central Coast Philharmonia), and Copland’s Old American Songs (Beecroft Orchestra). Blake has appeared in concerts with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, the University of St Andrews, the Dundee Cathedral, the Polish Musicians Association (Warsaw), the Polish Embassy in Canberra and at the Sydney Opera House. Awards include the George Boland Scholarship, the 5Mbs Young Virtuosi Award, runner up in the Australian Vocal and Concerto Competition, and an Arts SA Grant to study with Peter Coleman-Wright.

      Blake recently completed a PhD entitled, 'The Invisible Man: Roman Palester', at the University of Sydney on a full Australian Postgraduate Award. Previously he completed a Master of Philosophy degree researching Polish émigré composer Andrzej Panufnik at the University of Adelaide and also holds a Bachelor of Music degree with Honours from the same institution. He has held teaching/academic positions at the Avondale University College, the Wollongong Conservatorium, Cranbrook School, and the Kings School. He has presented papers at conferences all over the world, including, at the University of Glasgow, the University of South Australia, the Lithuanian Composers Union, the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (UMFC), the Krakow Academy of Music, the Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan, the Polish Institute of National Remembrance, the University of Melbourne, the Perth Cathedral (Scotland), and Griffith University. He has published articles with the Lithuanian Composers’ Union, the Cambridge Scholars, and has pending publications with the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and Polski Rocznik Muzykologiczny. In 2012, at the invitation of Lady Camilla Panufnik, Blake worked on the revitalization of the Panufnik Archives in London. Blake has received awards and grants from the South Australian State Government (Arts Department), the Herbert Johnson Travel Grant, the Grant in Aid Scheme, ARS Music Australis, the Dundee City Council, the Sydney Savage Club, the Sydney University Postgraduate Research Support Scheme, the Walter and Dorothy Duncan trust, and was a recipient of the prestigious George Boland Post-graduate Scholarship at the University of Adelaide. He has severed on the board of the Musicology Society of Australia (South Australian Branch), the Elder Conservaotirum of Music Postgraduate Board, and was one of the founders and the first Vice President of the Adelaide University Sound Exchange Club.
