Legacy of a Leader is a blog aimed toward emerging leaders who seek guidance from a peer millennial leader who has navigated the waters to become an international thought leader in his profession. A parent and #girldad of two little girls and a dedicated husband, it can be difficult to balance a career and leadership. The blog is a real-time reflection on events and advice from someone who has been able to do both. Staff Instructor for DEU
-
Jul 2015 - Oct 2017
As an Staff Instructor, I am responsible for two senior level nursing students with the task of taking care of a true nursing assignment. On our unit this is defined as 3-4 patients of high acuity of a step-down ICU unit. We work on identifying weaknesses and strengths in each individual as well as creating a teamwork environment that is much more realistic than a traditional critical care clinical. I personally stress support of each other and try to put each of them in difficult situations that the other has to react to and help solve complex situations to prepare them for a successful preceptorship and career.
