This study proposed an explanation for the evolution of pelvic suspension using a mechanical and numerical approach. To model the environment, we created a 3D generic CAD of MRI image data from the pelvic system, and applied explicit boundary conditions and loads to the resulting FE model. Reducing strain by locally increasing stiffness, we aimed to observe if ligament 3D reconstruction could be obtained. I used data from consecutive, looping FEBio XML files and automated the material property… Show more This study proposed an explanation for the evolution of pelvic suspension using a mechanical and numerical approach. I ran a study on the 3D fluid flow of coconut oil within porous media comprised of porcelain spheres. Our test consisted of image data for MRI scans using software programs written in-house in the Interactive Data Language (IDL). Alongside Dr. Jeffrey Olafsen, we built, serviced, and replaced three MagneVu 1000 MRI’s and their rf coil antennae, and I wrote the necessary scripts to analyze and view the dicom stacks.
