Dr. Alexander Frech

I worked with Bjarne for over 3 years. Turbulent years with lots of required business transformation. We had to carefully analyse how to leverage profitability and market share and then to digitalize and transform the business model accordingly. Bjarne proofed to be the cornerstone throughout this process. I am amazed by his skills to see through the mist and with great strategic and technological understanding Bjarne covered a pioneering role in modelling the future of Amiblu. He was always able to question the status quo and think outside the box. But when assuming responsibility for the implementation Bjarne also was able to feel the needs of the organisation. With great passion, vision and when needed patience I saw Bjarne as our motor to transform our B2B business model towards a modern, 21st century, full digitalized industrial leading company. Thank you Bjarne for our great times together and all I could learn from you! I wish you all the best!

As a department head, I oversee a team of front-end and back-end developers, data managers, and a software architect. I manage the day-to-day operations of Amiblu's digital fulfillment process in Europe, from lead-to-order, ensuring seamless communication and a unified understanding of our product portfolio across the organization. I am responsible for overseeing the construction and operation of an internally built PIM system, product configurators and several custom built applications. I also oversee the software side of Operational Technology (OT), cooperating with the OT teams on topics related to different PLC and SCADA software. We are in the initiating phase of digitalizing the order to production process. I frequently travel to sites in Europe implementing and on-boarding the organization. From June 2014 to August 2018, I led the product brand and marketing efforts for Flowtite Technology, later merged into Amiblu. In collaboration with Rethinking Group in the Netherlands, I helped establish the international brand "Flowtite: First Choice of Engineers Worldwide." I coordinated the technical and commercial departments at Flowtite Technology in the development of new market activities and assets and was responsible for distributing the brand and market assets to licensees in Europe, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Australia. The role in this innovation and development company involved bridging the gap between the technical product development team at Jatronic and the company's customers and stakeholders. This involved attending trade fairs, presenting at oil and gas congresses, and building relationships with potential customers. Additionally, I served as the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager for the mother company, Fosstech AS, resolving any non-compliance reports received from Schlumberger's WesternGeco and Kongsberg Group. This role required a combination of technical knowledge, customer-facing skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Overall, it was a demanding but rewarding role that required navigating complex relationships and resolving challenging issues. Show less

  • WestCom Group

    • Managing director
      • May 2008 - May 2012

I took over as the managing director of West Communication (WestCom) after the company faced a significant loss of customers to a start-up and the financial crisis. I proactively sought to improve the company's position through acquisition and merger processes with other radio com retailers and a new venture in Bergen. In response to changes in the market, I guided WestCom in finding a new sustainable strategy, including hiring Tetra-qualified personnel and winning its first Tetra tender in 2011. I relocated with my family to Sandefjord in 2009, commuting daily to Stavanger. Despite these efforts, the company faced various challenges, including depreciation costs and disagreements regarding the company's direction. Ultimately, the joint venture owners decided to split the company, and I reached an agreement with a 12-month severance period. Show less
