Birgül Demirtaş is professor of International Relations at the Department of Political Science and International Relations in Turkish-German University in İstanbul. She worked at TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Ankara between 2011-2019 and at Başkent University between 2005-2010. She received her B.A. degree from Boğaziçi University, M.A. degree from Bilkent University and Ph.D. degree from Free University Berlin. She was the assistant editor of the journal of Uluslararası İlişkiler/International Relations (indexed by SSCI) between 2004-2018 and its managing editor between 2019-2021. Her studies concentrate on Turkish foreign policy, German foreign policy, Balkans, local diplomacy, Turkish domestics politics and migration, and gender. Show less
