As the resident Hip Hop Teacher and advisor to the UMaine Hip Hop Club, I was able to find not only a mentor in Birdie, but also a friend and colleague. I have been witness to his exponential growth as an artist, teacher, and leader. His command of a classroom is unparalleled and it has been a great influence to the way I approach instruction. His ability to explore the dynamical range of large and small group choreography on a stage and wield a narrative that captivates his audience makes him one of Maine's greatest choreographers. Having Birdie in my life has been a gift and I look forward to seeing his continual growth and accomplishments.
