It was a great pleasure to work with Binita. She is highly skilled in Communications for the arts and greatly improved the company's communications during the time she worked with us. She is very professional and diligent, and was able to juggle a large number of tasks in a short period of time. She created a new marketing strategy which helped the company better communicate who they were and what was unique about them to their audiences. She is able to identify and highlight the strengths of the organisation, but also to identify areas that need improvement and clearly communicating these to the management, then working with the team to find solutions. She is a very intelligent and kind person and it was great to have her in our team.

I had the pleasure of working with Binita on the Bloomsbury Festival in 2016. Binita was the marketing manager for the festival, and I was hired as a marketing assistant to support marketing and communications – specifically through social media and distribution. Before working on the Bloomsbury Festival, I had very little knowledge about social media marketing, but thanks to Binita’s guidance, I am now very confident in my social media marketing abilities. From day one, Binita was very supportive and guided me through various ways to approach producing content on Facebook, Twitter, and the festival’s website. She taught me how to schedule tweets through Tweetdeck, read Facebook analytics to determine when was best to post on our festival page to optimize our impact, and update content on a WordPress powered site. She also taught me the importance of images and video content for attracting attention in the digital world, as well as the power of storytelling in marketing. Binita was always highly encouraging of me and made me feel comfortable using my own unique ‘voice’ in social media posts. Many of the skills that Binita helped me to develop in arts and social media marketing during the festival, I have continued to use and apply in other roles. I’m grateful to Binita for her mentoring and would highly recommend her as a lecturer or instructor. She is knowledgeable, passionate, and a great teacher.

I’m a trusted, ethical freelance arts PR based in London and working nationally with a stellar team of associates. I work on a diverse portfolio of performing and visual arts, museums and galleries on long and short-term projects. I have a wealth of knowledge, contacts and imaginative thinking to offer organisations wishing to strengthen brand awareness, build audiences and sustain relationships with key supporters locally, nationally and internationally. I add value to all the companies I work with through lateral thinking, responsiveness and strategic advocacy. Having been an artist, I have a deep understanding of creative processes and a unique ability to be able to ask my clients the most prescient questions, enhancing how their stories are told. My passion lies in finding the right angle in a story and writing media-friendly exceptional copy. I can make a difference to you by seeking out and nurturing great relationships with relevant writers, influencers and press contacts. For example, I have placed stories on BBC Front Row, many local BBC radio and TV channels, The Stage, BBC Saturday Live, BBC Scotland Radio, Forbes, ITV Wales and ITV Anglia, The Guardian, the FT, and specialist visual arts and niche publications like The Voice, FAD, Verdict, The Art Newspaper and Arts Professional. I also do a lot of PR work through researching and pitching to individual writers. I keep my finger on the pulse of social media, media trends, technology and cultural shifts in language that affect how we speak to audiences. I am a Member of the Arts Marketing Association, and on the Board of Trustees for Tangled Feet. I occasionally carry out talks on communications for the Arts Marketing Association and others about communicating effectively through PR. Recently, I wrote an opinion piece on communicating diversity 'Mind Your Language' which was published in Arts Professional. email me to find out more: binita@thespaceinbetween.co.uk Show less
