Bio
Irina Boiarkina
I worked with Bing during his PhD study into phosphate recovery from wastewater. He was diligent and thorough in the planning of his research and not daunted by having to carry out significant careful lab work to investigate his chosen subject. Beyond careful lab work, he showed his passion for the environment and view of the bigger picture, showing his ability to look at the problem from different scales. Bing is a great collaborator and team player, and is focused on understanding and solving the problem. He readily applies new techniques and is interested in trying different approaches for solving problems. I have enjoyed working with him throughout the duration of his PhD and look forward to further collaboration.

As Senior Technical Coordinator for Homestar at NZGBC, I managed Bing both as an intern and a full time Technical Coordinator as part of his time was dedicated to Homestar. He is a dedicated team player willing to help with all work that the technical team needed to get done, from managing certification and administrative work to marking exams from trainee assessors. This was despite him already being quite busy with NABERS NZ which he also managed. He is a quick learner and very process oriented. Bing has made some invaluable contributions to our team to help improve our effectiveness. These include updating our process manual and improving our databases so that we can obtain metrics that we need for reporting and performance tracking much more easily. I highly recommend him to any firm looking to hire a talented person, whether it is engineering or process improvement.
