As a professional downhill skateboarder and representative of Landyachtz, I've travelled to 20+ countries, made podium at 17 races, and met thousands of very stoked skateboarders. I’ve appeared in many youtube videos accumulating over 2.5 million views, been featured on the cover of three different longboard publications, and have developed a social media following.

PDX Downhill was a Portland based non-profit that organized local skateboard events and also advocated for skateboarding as a legitimate form of transportation. My work as an event organizer: -Founded the Cathlamet Downhill Corral. This was a three day skateboard event in the City of Cathlamet, Washington. We worked with the local government to set up a series of sanctioned events throughout Cathalmet that encompassed all types of skateboarding. This event drew an international attendance of skaters and ran for 7 years. -Founded the Mt. Tabor Downhill Challenge. The MTDHC is Portland's first sanctioned downhill skateboard race. This annual event occurred in Mt. Tabor Park in the heart of SE Portland. This event brought out a variety of racers from ages 10-60 and from numerous countries. I organized this event for 5 years before handing it off to a local skateboard company who now runs the event. Tasks involved with event organizing: - Secure permit with city -Gain approval from local governments and neighborhoods -Acquire insurance for event -Work with skate companies to acquire monetary support -Promote event through various media networks -Work with local community to organize volunteers for event -Secure the safety of participants, spectators and looky-loos -Organize the participants and run event My work as an advocate: I was part of a task-force organized by Portland City Council to deal with relations between skateboarders and residents of the Arlington Heights Neighborhood. This task-force included Portland Bureau of Transportation, Portland Parks & Rec., the Portland Police Bureau, Portland Criminal Prevention, Tri-Met, members of Portland City Council and The Arlington Heights Neighborhood Association. After a year of meetings we found middle ground and made adjustments to the language of the City Ordinance (16.70.410) that deals with skateboarding in Portland City Limits. Show less
