When Bill Thorburn and I met, I believe the earth rattled just a little bit. In a very good way. And in the intervening years Bill and I have traveled many roads together, working in partnership with leadership and marketing team members at dozens of college and universities across the country. Without fail, Bill's deep understanding of, and enthusiasm (even reverence) for, unleashing the full potential elevated institutional brands captured the imaginations of everyone whose lives he touched along the way. Bill Thorburn is the brand whisperer; he knows how to nudge, coax, and electrify the core values of an institution to life in ways that--in my experience--almost mystify his client partners. He's also a creative team whisperer, able to successfully build mighty micro-communities of strategists, writers, designers, technicians, and managers whose talents complement each other's in laser-focused attention to the challenge at hand. Time and time again, I marveled at Bill's ability to energize, inspire, guide, and lift his creative team to deliver jaw-dropping solutions to clients whose wide grins of approval filled rooms. The foundational brand elements delivered by every Thorburn team rattles clients' worlds in much the same extraordinarily positive ways that I felt mine shake when Bill and I met.
