Responsible for leading exploration and development projects in Ecuador, Colombia, China, Argentina, Brazil, Nigeria, Ghana, Gabon and most recently onshore Gulf of Mexico. Main accomplishments follow: Discovery of the Polvo Field, Brazil – Evaluated the results of an unsuccessful exploration well targeting cretaceous sands, and determined the potential for a deeper productive zone. Recommended the drilling of a series of cretaceous oolite shoals and turbidite sands. The success of the first exploration well, with over 50 meters of porosity, and the subsequent appraisals confirmed the discovery of the Polvo Field in the Campos Basin, offshore Brazil. After further development drilling, peak production reached 50,000 BOPD with 10 production and 3 injection wells. Unconventional Resource Exploration Liquids Play – Integrated reprocessed 2-D and 3-D seismic to subsurface data regionally in East Texas as part of the Carbonate exploration team. Led the team through an extensive acoustic log modeling study, which provided the key understanding of trap development. Mapped and drilled a series of fracture-porosity prospects, successfully confirming the areal extent of best developed Lime reservoir. A horizontal drilling program is currently underway developing this asset, confirming pre-drill expectations. Exploration of Gas Sands, Deep-water Offshore Nigeria – Constructed regional AVO models and maps of tertiary gas sands using Hampson and Russell software. Integrated models from deep-water exploratory wells with regional 2-D and 3-D Seismic Amplitude, and evaluated prospective leads in Devon’s acreage.

Development of the Sierra Chata Field, Argentina – Contributed to the development of the Sierra Chata Field in the Neuquen Basin of Argentina by recommending the shooting of a large 3-D survey for development and further exploration. Directed the acquisition, processing, post-stack inversion, and interpretation of 3-D seismic data to map sandstone stratigraphic traps from the cretaceous Mulichinco formation. Over 20 exploration and development wells were selected, recommended and successfully drilled in this endeavor, increasing the reserves by nearly 1 TCF.

Responsible for interpreting geological and geophysical data for prospect generation in Santa Fe’s concessions in the Austral and San Jorge basins of Argentina. Recommended and evaluated areas for farm-in or bidding in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Malaysia, Venezuela and Ecuador. Initiated activities for second round of field reactivation in Venezuela. • Vice President International
      • Jan 1986 - Dec 1990

Overall responsibility for international project management. Directed a team of experts through high fidelity seismic processing flows, modeling of seismic with well data, Seismic Inversion (Seislog) processing, and geological interpretation to obtain structural and stratigraphic maps. Prepared succinct written reports, highlighting results. Presented technical results and drilling recommendations to clients’ executive management worldwide.

Discovery of the Swede Draw Field, Wyoming – Supervised seismic processing, constructed seismic inversion sections (Seislogs) and interpreted results in various basins of the United States. Emphasis placed upon sonic log stratigraphic modeling and lithofacies mapping. Cretaceous Woodbine, Tuscaloosa, Jurassic Bossier and Smackover among plays worked onshore Gulf of Mexico. Mapped a stratigraphic trap in the Powder River basin using the Seislog inversion technology. Drilling, logging and testing the eolian sand from the Minnelusa Formation confirmed the predicted thickness and discovered the Swede Draw Field.

    • Geophysical Task Force Leader,
      • Jan 1981 - Jul 1983

Appointed to be part of a selected team of geoscientists to participate in an integrated multi-disciplinary evaluation of the Eastern Venezuela Basin. As project leader of the Geophysical Task Force, my responsibility consisted in organizing and interpreting 6,000 kms of seismic and ancillary geologic data. Worked with specialists from other disciplines including lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy, fluid migration, geochemistry and regional structural geology.Based upon the evaluation, the two year project produced interpretations which resulted in 29 drilling prospects.

    • Geophysical Supervisor
      • Jan 1980 - Dec 1980

Implemented the geophysical exploration program of the North Anzoátegui area in the Eastern Venezuela Basin. Managed a team of three geoscientists to develop prospects for a yearly exploration program. Designed, coordinated and supervised field data acquisition and processing.

    • Geophysicist
      • Jan 1977 - Dec 1979

Worked with the Chief Geophysicist in activities related to seismic operations and mapping within producing fields in the Greater Oficina and Anaco areas.
