Co-owner and director of Outside Structure Solutions. We are Shade and Shelter Specialists in the leisure, education and domestic sectors. My first (and only) start-up was born in 2008 and we only had a single product for the Education Sector. Since then we have grown by offering a top class service. We still sell our first product, the Qube, into the Education Sector, and have added the Mendip and Quantock structures which also feature an aluminium frame. Popular in the Education sector for its value for money, it has also crossed-over into the pub and domestic markets. After a couple of years we became a dealer for the Italian manufacturer Gibus. We are now an Atelier Dealer meaning that we are factory-approved – and currently one of only four in the UK! The range of products is exemplary and gives us Italian style with superb quality. Since those early years with Gibus, we have added different ranges and suppliers. European and more specifically Italian products feature highly in our portfolio. I source all of the products that we sell, and we only sell and install great quality structures. Style, quality, affordability as well as sales/service back up are essential. From the beginning, I have been involved in every aspect of the business from Sales to Marketing to Installation and paperwork. It is vital that I experience every element so that I can talk knowledgably with both clients and also the guys I work with. Following a change in personal circumstances I decided that I needed help with the business to reduce my own stress and to take the business forward. In 2017 I sold my majority share in the business to APPS UK Ltd who specialise is dust and odour control. Since then we have relocated to Huntingdon and now share a site and offices. The future is looking great with stability in all elements of the business. I am looking to expand our business and add to the portfolio, bringing more great European quality to the UK

    • Chandlery Manager
      • Jan 1999 - Apr 2008

Chandlery Manager for 9 years. Five words that hardly describe 5 minutes in the day! A rich and varied time, where I helped to turn a small inland marina with boatyard and chandlery, into one of the best in the area. Using my knowledge from previous chandleries, we tripled the size of the chandlery and stocked it with interactive display systems and used great technical knowledge to offer the best service we could. We were a Mariner dealer offering outboards, boats and spares. This led to the conversion of one of the workshops into the largest boat showroom in the area. I implemented the use of the Kudos shop and boatyard computer system for automated pricing and stock control making whole company more efficient. In addition to that, my main tasks included product sourcing for the workshop as well as shop customers, day to day ordering and shop tasks. Laterly I had direct control of the workshop prior to franchising
