  Biljana Jotic (Samardzic) is an art historian and curator. In her 18 years of independent work, she has focused on young people and women in contemporary visual art. She has realized over 10 author’s solo and over 30 group exhibitions, regional and international, published over 20 catalog author’s texts, initiated and realized 5 author’s projects, regional and international, independently and in cooperation with colleagues, partner organizations and the public sector. Her texts (7) were published in the professional magazine of contemporary visual art and spatial communication, “ART LIFE” (origin „Likovni život“). She has been a selector for over 10 collective exhibitions, manifestations and festivals, judged two award exhibitions, initiated and moderated over 5 panels. In addition, she opened a number of solo and group exhibitions, held over 10 professional guided tours of the exhibitions and she designed over than 20 exhibitions. Initiated and realized several art events, art meetings, open classes with students, multimedia workshops with children and adults as well as humanitarian events and auctions of contemporary art, as well as Art tours through contemporary visual art. Her work so far has been followed by numerous media sources, from television, radio and print media to new forms of internet portals.   Biljana Jotić (Samardžić) je istoričarka umetnosti i samostalna kustoskinja. Inicirala je i organizovala oko 30 izložbi u Srbiji i regionu, samostalnih i kolektivnih. Piše autorske tekstove, bavi se postavkama izložbi, stručno vodi kroz izložbe, organizuje otvorene časove za srednjoškolce i razgovore sa umetnicima. Zalaže se za položaj savremene umetnosti kroz saradnju sa umetnicima, kolegama i institucijama, privatnim, javnim i medijskim sektorom. Realizovala niz humanitarnih akcija, umetničkih radionica, umetničkih susreta, aukcija radova domaćih autora mlađe generacije i ostalih društveno korisnih događaja. Sarađuje sa velikim brojem umetnika.Poreklom iz Hercegovine, rođena u Mostaru (1977), šest razreda osnovne škole završila u Bileći, a usled očeve prekomande (1988) seli se u Beograd gde nastavlja školovanje i život. Majka dvoje odrasle dece i aktivna samostalna preduzetnica u kulturi.Diplomirala je Istoriju umetnosti na Filozofskom fakultetu u Beogradu, MA (2002). Tokom burnih studentskih godina (protesti 1996/7 i bombardovanja 1999) volontirala je u biblioteci na katedri za Istoriju umetnosti. Posle diplomiranja nastaivla je volontersku praksu u Narodnom muzeju, na projektu „Digitalizacija muzejskih zbirki“ i u srednjoj muzičkoj školi Vatroslav Lisinski. Samoinicijativno osnova galeriju (2006) koju je vodila 10 godina i jedna je od osnivača Udruženja BeoArt Contemporary.Tokom poslednjih 15 samostalnog rada u centru pažnje su mlađe generacije vizuelnih umetnika na domaćoj sceni. Njen dosadašnji rad propratili se brojni medijski izvori, od televizijskih, radio i štampanih medija do novih oblika internet poratala. Imala je više od 10 gostovanja u emisijama na različitim televizijskim programima, informativnim i specijalizovanim za umetnsot i kulturu. O njenoj koautorskoj izložbi „Medial: Nekad i Sad“ snimljen je film koji se emituje u okviru Kulturne baštine, na RTS 3. Show less

  In 2006, I established a BeoArt-LiveArt gallery to promote the production of contemporary - live art, with a focus on younger generations of visual artists. During my work as a gallery owner, I have organized over 15 solo exibitions of young artits in the BeoArt-LiveArt gallery, initiated the project: "Action: The Artists Month", branch Art consulting and started a drawing and painting school. In the meantime i collaborated with numerous institutions, the public sector, colleagues and artists.
