  I decided to become a School governor because I wanted to give something back to the school, however at the same time expand my knowledge of Financial, Budget and Staf management. Initially voted in as a parent governor (for a 4 year term) I was approached to take on the role of chair of the Finance and staffing committee, this includes responsibilities such as evaluating effectiveness of spending decisions and staff matters. For example:The Finance Committee advises the Full Governing Body on:1. The annual budget plan2. The availability of Grant funding3. The solvency of the School and the safeguarding of its assets4.
