  CSC3002F provides an introduction to two core computer science topics (1) the structure andorganization of operating systems and (2) an introduction to computer networks, that will takethe student through the various logical layers of the ISO OSI layers, focusing on the InternetProtocol suite. As a tutor, I was able to assist 3rd-year students to get a proper grasp on these topics as well as marking their assignments and tests.

  Machine learning algorithms are common to many Computer Science and Engineering disciplines, and often require plenty of computational resources. Such algorithms are well suited to high a performance language like C/C++ (along with C-like GPU APIs such as CUDA). CSC3022F switches to Python ML frameworks, whilst still providing a solid grounding in C++ for those who need more precise control over system resources. The ML component of the course will introduce the necessary Python frameworks, along with concepts such as supervised/unsupervised learning, and implementation strategies such as neural networks, genetic algorithms and decision trees.As a tutor, I was able to assist 3rd-year students to get a proper grasp on these topics as well as marking their assignments and tests.
