C++ and Machine Learning Tutor (CSC3022F)
-
Jan 2021 - Jun 2021
Machine learning algorithms are common to many Computer Science and Engineering disciplines, and often require plenty of computational resources. Such algorithms are well suited to high a performance language like C/C++ (along with C-like GPU APIs such as CUDA). CSC3022F switches to Python ML frameworks, whilst still providing a solid grounding in C++ for those who need more precise control over system resources. The ML component of the course will introduce the necessary Python frameworks, along with concepts such as supervised/unsupervised learning, and implementation strategies such as neural networks, genetic algorithms and decision trees. As a tutor, I was able to assist 3rd-year students to get a proper grasp on these topics as well as marking their assignments and tests.
