- Inspect New Buildings & existing buildings for change of use, occupancy or compliance with applicable codes and ordinances; work with developer and architects to ensure structures are safe and ready for occupancy. -Examine building plans, specifications, and evaluates technical reports to ensure compliance with the New York city Building Code, regulations and bylaws. -Enforce regulations on projects requiring building and related permits for new construction, additions, and alternations to existing buildings. -Respond to inquiries from the developers and contractors regarding codes and other issues with projects -Prepare all types of NB & alteration permit applications.
