Brian is an outstanding mechanical engineer, with a great balance of theoretical and practical knowledge. When Joule wanted a lab- or field-scale installation done right the first time, Brian is the engineer who got the assignment. He could do the calculations, make the CAD drawings, find the fabricators, help make the parts, and roll up his sleeves and get it installed properly the first time. In addition, Brian always had time to explain things to younger or less-experienced engineers. His facility at mentoring was well-appreciated by management. His well-liked personality and easy demeanor make him an asset for any company, large or small. I see him making an easy transition into management, when the time and opportunity presents itself.

Hugh Smith

I am happy and confident in my recommendation of Brian Sears for a position as a Mechanical Design Engineer. I have worked with and observed Brian at Joule Unlimited for 3+ years and know him to be creative and dependable. Brian's design creativity is based in a diverse background of experience which he routinely demonstrates in both design for fabrication and manufacturing. He has proven to be a problem solver in team and individual circumstances. He is confident in his own skill set , but appreciates a good idea no matter the origin. Additionally, Brian's background as a machinist / model maker has resulted in a full understanding of materials and eng / mfg processes. lastly, his amiable character and good will make him an ideal coworker.
