Betsy Burroughs has a unique way of unlocking fresh insights with her Focus Catalyst approach. It's NOT the same old brainstorming approach at all. She applies the latest findings in neuroscience to create exercises that really help you innovate. You can also watch her TEDx talk online, which will definitely make you want the book!

John Pierre

Betsy's unique approach using applied neuroscience turns brainstorming into actionable results. Highly recommend it.

Hi, I'm Betsy Burroughs. The Atlantic Magazine called me "a Silicon Valley branding executive turned neuroscience researcher." I consult with organizations on business innovation and with individuals on weight loss so they can make effective change Easy Effortless Fun. I first developed my business innovation techniques for my branding clients. My first book was on business innovation, "FOCUS. The Catalyst for Innovation. Based on the Neuroscience of Insight." Even though that book is a business book, surprisingly…I used every technique in it to make it Easy Effortless Fun to lose 90 pounds and keep them off. All the neuroscience research I’ve studied in the last 20 years on Behavior Change and Habit Design led me to create these techniques. My upcoming second book adds to my first, with new innovative weight loss techniques you can’t find anywhere else—ones that work with your brain, not against it. Show less

Foreword by Michela O’Connor Abrams, CEO, Dwell Media LLC, www.dwell.com "There is never enough time to step back from your business and examine your goals, test your vision, fine tune your mission or uncover new opportunities…but that is what it takes to innovate. "As someone who loves creating new products, platforms, services and pretty much everything else the Dwell brand allows, I found a path to success through Guided Brainstorming with Betsy Burroughs. "It all seemed far too simple and yet the magic was in the simplicity. Unlocking intuition and creating those “aha!” moments is what it’s all about. "Now I find myself using her methods as a matter of practice when creating anything new. I rarely get bogged down with a problem for long and since time is my most precious resource, her techniques are my best friends. "Fast, easy and they work. There are no other innovation tools I could recommend more than these FocusCatalyst Guided Brainstorming techniques." Available on Amazon Show less

Clients included Ziff-Davis Magazine Networks and InfoWorld. When she started working with InfoWorld, Betsy had a flash of insight* that resulted in an entire campaign for them that took their market share from 35% to 50% virtually overnight. * That "in-a-flash" insight included all their branding and positioning--as well as the concept, layout and look and feel for the entire campaign, including its tagline and logo mark. (And all of Betsy's experience is in ad agency account management, not creative. Luckily her creative team agreed with the approach...) As a result of that experience--as well as the flash of insight she experienced again as VP Marketing at Infoworld that led to the InfoWorld Futures Project described above--Betsy developed a number of unique processes and techniques so anyone can generate those "flash of insight" experiences more often and more at will. All of which led to her founding her current company, FocusCatalyst, and writing her book, "FOCUS. The Catalyst for Innovation." Show less
