I have worked with Beth Hobson for 3 1/2 years in her position as Unit Lodging Representative with the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast. I worked closely with her in the Operations Section in my role as Director of Operations. Beth brings many positive qualities and attributes to the table for many different careers, and I see many of her strengths as especially useful in the accounting field. Her position in our organization required 100% accuracy, concise communication and coordination with multiple stakeholders, and the diligence and commitment to get the job done regardless of the day, time or if it required her to work during non-work hours. She spent countless hours of her own time ensuring that members of our military unit -- some traveling from great distances of up to 400 miles -- had a place to stay when they reported for duty. This is an extremely important responsibility that directly impacts the well-being of the unit members, and she never failed to ensure that all of our needs were met. While she always fulfilled her duties without fail, Beth consistently went above and beyond to ensure that our organization was painted in a positive light with all of the other stakeholder organizations. She developed rapport and established and fostered an excellent professional relationship which continually paid dividends in the efficiency with which support was given. Our organization garnered great respect within the base community as one that can be counted on to get things right all of the time. I can see Beth being an excellent addition to the accounting profession because she possesses the qualities of a great employee that cannot be taught.
