My mission as Outreach Coordinator at College of the Sequoias (COS) was to assist all high school seniors and returning adult learners compete the matriculation process. As Coordinator of The Office of Outreach and Relations I worked to establish and maintain strong partnerships within Tulare and Kings County, as well as develop partnerships with district residents, community-based organizations, and local agencies. Developing a recruitment process with an institution-wide approach, the Outreach Office served as a central location to organize outreach and recruitment efforts.Additional Position Objectives Included:• Developed and implemented a comprehensive recruitment and outreach plan to increase enrollment and contact with prospective students. • Program reporting and participation in Program Review cycle. • Coordinated Reg-to-Go and Giant-Days for the COS district (three COS campus locations) -Serving over 20 high schools • Established recruitment targets by high school for all Outreach personnel. • Developed a data system that tracked performance based results of high school graduates who matriculated to the district. • Ensured that high school students understood the programs and career opportunities available to them by providing a representative at all feeder high schools within the district (over 20+). • Provided career pathway information to higher education by offering workshops that introduced high school students and adults to the opportunities at COS. • Promoted articulated career and technology programs and pathways from high school to COS’s Career Technical Education programs. • Encouraged dialogue between high school faculty and COS faculty to align basic skills curriculum so that graduating seniors will be successful freshman.
