Assistant Principal
-
Jul 1998 - Jul 2001
As the assistant principal at Brookwood Jr. High School, I was responsible for ensuring student safety and managing an effective discipline program in the school. In order to be effective, I established a policy in which all students could establish positive connections to school. We created an extensive extra-curricular program that excluded NO child and we adopted a "no-cuts" policy for our athletic programs.

Mathematics Teacher
-
Aug 1992 - Jun 1999
As a mathematics teacher, I worked to ensure that all of my students gained mathematical literacy and confidence in their problem solving skills. Failure was never an option and all students were expected to perform at the best of their abilities. Forming positive relationships with my students and parents was the key to my success in the classroom.
