  After completing two weeks of work experience, I was asked back to take on a paid temporary role and encouraged to apply for a job as a full time engagement producer. I started the full time role as part of the social media team in February 2018. - I was responsible for scheduling content from across all areas of the paper on the main Facebook and Twitter accounts for The Times and The Sunday Times, reaching audiences of hundreds of thousands. - I led the creation of a new strategy for The Times Instagram account, moving the platform towards sharing more of our content and fully utilising the platform's features. My strategy led to the most-liked post on the account in the two years since it had been set up. - I strategised social media campaigns for major projects such as The Sunday Times' Best Place to Live and the Good University Guide. - I used in-house software to write and 'build' daily newsletters for subscribers with the latest news stories. - I trained staff in using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for journalistic purposes.   I was consulted to update the social media for the School of Engineering at UWTSD, working closely with the Marketing and Communications team as well as the Web Design team. During the weeks I spent at UWTSD I: - Drew up a social media plan focussing on STEM subjects that aimed to reach out to potential students and regularly communicate with students already at the school. - Focused on developing a social media plan that incorporated the Schools' passion for #GirlsinSTEM, an initiative that encourages women to consider careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects. - Helped redesign the webpage for the School of Engineering in order to make it more accessible for potential students. - Created Facebook groups for the various degree subjects in the School of Engineering to encourage communication between students and make them aware of upcoming events.
