Intern
-
Jan 2010 - May 2010
While interning at the La Crosse Area Sports Commission, I was fortunate to get experience in all areas of the organization. I wrote numerous articles for our magazine, Greater La Crosse Sports Connection, contacted local organizations and created a database with their events to expand the Events Calendar in our magazine. I assisted peer intern in duties for the Greater La Crosse Sports Connection Awards Banquet by designing programs, table, and sponsor signage. I contacted, scheduled and supervised twenty volunteer staff for the 2010 Greater La Crosse Golf Show and was responsible for marketing materials such as signage, program design, booth labels, and volunteer name badges as well as contacted and scheduled Golf Professionals to give presentations throughout weekend. Lastly, I assisted in the development of our Chipping Contest which helped us meet our goal of attracting more attendees on Sunday afternoon. I was also a“Slide into Safety with the Loggers” Board Member, a local event, where I attended and participated in monthly board meetings. More specifically I was responsible for orchestrating Safety Station for 3rd grade students on Water and Pool Safety. This included contacting a local aquatic center to sponsor our booth and contacting lifeguards to speak at the event. I also Assisted in the design and layout of safety stations for event. I formulated sponsorship package for Mississippi Valley Conservancy (MVC) Adventure Race, as well as assisted in drafting budget for MVC Adventure Race. Show less
