My role as an English teacher at Aureus is an exciting one. It is fast-paced and rewarding. I have taken my NQT year in my stride and although at times challenging, it has taught me to be incredibly resilient. Successes within my first year of teaching include: planning the year 7 and year 8 curriculum for English Language almost entirely alone, enabling the school to be awarded for its commitment to Educate and Celebrate LGBT inclusion and an award for the Pride Youth Network, contributing to the Chartered College of Teaching as a guest speaker and being interviewed and filmed for their recruitment video and also receiving a nomination for the Pearson 'Outstanding New Teacher 2019' award.
