  This the On job training program where the objective is to educate me on how the hydroelectric power plant is operating, The plant is located at BAKUN at Belaga district. It is a the biggest Dam in South East Asia with the power generating capacity of 2400Mw. Equip with 8 units of Francis turbine built by ALSTOM and IMPSA. Operation DepartmentI had been introduce to the Power Purchase Agreement document, where I had learn how to do the billing to the client. Exposed to the hydroelectric plant operation by following the shift charge engineer to conduct plant monitoring as well plant maintenance work.Assisting the Shift charge engineer to conduct Isolation and normalization at 275kv switch yard.Assisting the Shift charge engineer to conduct Isolation and normalization at Power House.The system that I had been expose for the isolation and normalization are Cooling water system, Oil cooling system for bearing, Miniature circuit breaker for equipment that required electric motor and the lifting and lowering the gate of Penstock and Draft tube.Maintenance Department.Learning how to troubleshoot the Journal Bearing system and try to fixed it within the limited time frame. Conducting preventive maintenance on Governor, monorail crane and compress air system. investigating the current performance of Chiller system by identifying the problem and giving suggestion to overcome the short coming of the chiller system.
