I rarely come across someone as ridiculously talented and diversely skilled as Bernice Harington-Fuller. I’ve had the pleasure of studying with Bernice at Stellenbosch University and have come to know her as an industry changer, dedicated mentor and a dear friend. As a graduate, she fearlessly took on the job market in the wine industry, a field dominated by men, and made her mark in wineries in South Africa, Chile, France, New Zealand and the USA. Seeing a gap in the market, Bernice boldly took on an entrepreneurial role by founding her own company, developing and assessing learning materials for the wine industry. More recently, her keen sense of evolution motivated a shift closer to building the future of our country - in formal education of the next generation. Her distinct skillset has been honed across various countries, cultures and positions, and makes her uniquely qualified to take on a demanding and leading role in a business. I have always been impressed with Bernice’s ability to handle multiple, demanding projects with great success while maintaining very high levels of creativity and critical thinking. She is as comfortable presenting a project plan as she is reading a novel at home; and she leaves no kind deed undone - I always joke that in my next life, I’d like to be one of her pets!! Exceptionally intelligent, caring and adventurous, Bernice has achieved every professional goal she has set for herself and will continue to make a significant difference in the world around her.
