  In my first full-time professional industry role, I worked as a part of a much broader team as a manufacturing engineer/technician, conducting a wide range of duties while also qualifying the welders, and monitoring the progress of them. Though my duties were many, they included high-level project analyses and design and dimensioning of welding joints for projects; definition of assembly, welding sequences and welding processes; and the reviewing of plans and welding specifications documents and procedures. I always aimed for the three goals of safety, accuracy and quality in our output, and endeavoured to secure results within fastpaced factory environments. Involved in a support capacity, I monitored progress of repairs and major overhauls across several busy workshop environments, ensuring all tools and machinery were in place and functional to match the business’s needs. This meant applying SAP skills, managing inventory and working with the permanent workers to propose meaningful changes for preventive maintenance of new equipment, with subsequent preparation and updating of technical manuals and notes for the equipment.
