  Upon completing my trainee program, I was tasked with structuring Raízen's Cellulosic Ethanol Business deployment both national and internationally. Raízen is the largest cellulosic ethanol producer globally, with a commercial scale plant operating in Piracicaba, São Paulo, mainly addressing EU and US markets.Within this timeframe, I had the opportunity to contribute towards four key deliverables: (i) map all biomass available within Raízen's access in terms of volume, form and centralization costs which defined every viable location for business expansion; (ii) structure our expansion strategy in terms of geographies, business models, market sizing and involvement; (iii) convert each market's decarbonization policies into willingness-to-pay, mainly focusing on EU and US; (iv) approval of our second commercial-scale cellulosic ethanol facility, consolidating RZ as the largest cellulosic ethanol producer globally Show less

The purpose of this leg was to gather disruptive solutions to address the second most polluting industry in the World: the fashion industry! Our deliverable focused on environmentally-conscious business approaches, governmental actions and methods to raise consumer awareness, while learning from the group dynamics in such an unstructured environment. Together with 18 other young minds from different backgrounds and cultures, we sailed for 30 days from Cape Verde to the Caribbean. This challenge took place in a course named Strategic Change Management & Innovation taught at Wageningen University by Dr. Domenico Dentoni. - Mr. Jan van Betten, Nudge's CEO who also held the contest, offered us the opportunity to attend the first morning of the Nudge Global Leadership Challenge 2016 (a three-day event), where we had the opportunity to engage and get inspired by World Sustainability Leaders such as Jeff Furman and Polly Higgins. - I was also invited by Dr. Domenico to replicate the same challenge at the Nudge Global Leadership Challenge where I acted as a facilitator and judge before 92 professionals driven by Sustainability from around the World.
