I worked as a research assistant in the MULTINET team at the Amsterdam UMC. The main project I partook in investigates the relationship between macroscale MRI and regional cellular properties. The end goal of this project is to inform the construction of a multilayer multiscale connectomic representation of the diseased brain. Additionally, I focused on the optimisation of diffusion imaging pre-processing tools for scans of patients suffering from glioma. Tech skills: • Diffusion Imaging Preprocessing (QSIPrep/fMRIPrep/ANTs/FSL/freesurfer). • Proficiency in neuroscientific (open) data science (namely BIDSify datasets, standerdise data, etc) Academic skills: • Neuroimaging preprocessing • Neuro-oncology Show less

Following my thesis, I had the opportunity to work as a research assistant in the neuropsychiatry team on neuroimaging. I analysed SPECT and PSIR (MRI) in the context of Parkinson's disease and Impulse Control Disorders. Tech skills: • Python (packages: skimage, nipype) • Bash scripting • Neuroimagining software: FSL and SPM.

"Prediction of outcome of cognitive training in Parkinson's Disease using MRI"I developed my master thesis as a member of the neuropsychiatry team at the research centre of the Amsterdam UMC. In this project, I had the opportunity to work with functional and structural brain connectivity networks in disease-state. The data were collected from a large RCT trial.Tech skills:• Machine Learning: design and validadation of regression algorithms.• Python (packages: rpy2, numpy, pandas, sklearn).• R (packages: tidyverse, fmradio).• MATLABAcademic skills:• MRI Theory and processing• Clinical neuroscience• Graph Theory• Wavelet coherence theoryLink to the full dissertation: https://run.unl.pt/handle/10362/115380 Show less

In this bioinformatics internship, I worked on the mathematical stochastic simulation of gold nanoparticles and the proteins in plasma. To reach this goal, I used video data from gel-electrophoresis to characterise the size of different plasma coronas.
