Shoshana S. Adler

I have known Bernard for 27 years. During this time, I’ve attended many of his classes, including his Talmud classes which began over 15 years ago. Bernard has extensive experience and expertise in adult education. He obviously loves teaching. He pays a scholarly attention to detail and prepares students and himself for every class. For example, he writes a summary of every weeks’ reading, lists salient vocabulary words, and provides questions for the students to answer in advance. He is prompt, reliable and consistent. Furthermore, he relates well to his students and respects their interests. He engages the students in his classes by encouraging class discussion and responding to any questions of concerns. He recently has written and presented on resilience, an attribute we need for the uncertainties of this pandemic time. His personal and professional leadership skills will benefit others in any managerial or administrative position.

Bernard is one of the kindest, most patient, most compassionate teachers I've ever had the privilege to work alongside. His instincts with individuals of all ages and backgrounds are exemplary. Would happily recommend him in any capacity!
