I taught CLIL lessons. This is a type of ESL lesson that teaches students how to use specialized English language to talk about specific subjects. The course I taught was called Studies of Society and Environment, so the units included soils and rocks, plants, water, energy and more historical/geographical lessons about regions of the world.I also taught reading and writing lessons and some more conventional ESL lessons for young learners at Grade 4 and 5 levels. I also trained corporate departments in Business English on a freelance basis and delivered IELTS exam prep lessons and do IELTS examining work as side work. Family needs permitting I also volunteered on green projects during time off. Show less

I taught a wide range of ESL lessons from beginner up to advanced level. These included Very young learners and young learners, teens, conversation, conventional adults classes, academic and business writing and exam prep and business English lessons. I was chosen to work on some in-company courses for business english and business writing. Also, I was chosen to work on some big Academic English projects for a military language training institute, a fast track system for government employees and at a well- regarded local business University. This involved teaching academic communication skills, presentation skills, study skills and exam preparation and included report writing, remedial classes and examining. Towards the end of my time at TBI I was promoted to the Academic Team Leader position of a new branch in South Jakarta, and had to handle academic admin, recruitment, management, marketing, branch development and teacher training as well as quite a heavy teaching workload. I particularly enjoyed the teacher training lessons and helped teach on TBI's earlier courses to members of the public such as the General Introduction to Teaching English course, the Introduction to Teaching English to Pre- schoolers course and the public teacher training workshops, and taught internal company teacher training workshops. I basically helped with consultant report writing, and research and helped the people in the organisation improve their property business English skills in terms of speaking, reading and report writing. The most basic types of reports included feasibility studies for property projects, market studies, marketing communications, and highest and best use studies, recommendations reports and property industry outlook reports.
