  The Sales and Marketing role at Nanyang Gum Benjamin provided me with the opportunity to grasp a first-hand understanding of the marketing realm. Given the task to project online presence for this traditional family business from scratch, I took the initiative of sourcing for website builders and freelancers, researching and generating online contents for natural gums, and building a WhatsApp Business account for ease of communication. The online presence of Nanyang Gum Benjamin paved the effectiveness in connecting with potential customers and interested suppliers, as indicated by the increase in general enquires on WhatsApp and emails. By integrating the WhatsApp account to the website, we were able to communicate with our counterparts more effectively. As such, we managed to source for a more reliable supplier, amidst the uncertainty brought about by the Covid 19 pandemic, lowering our cost by about 20% on average.
