My responsibilities included optimisation of processes for volume manufacture of ink and toners, using knowledge and relevant equipment in the production plants. I developed, tested and validated spectrometry based models of standard sample data, as well as data generated by UV instruments. I maintained and improved functional performance to reduce manufacture product cost and material utilisation. I communicated detailed research and analytical recommendations in clear and concise manner, in form of technical reports and presentation materials. I implemented troubleshooting of product quality problems and conducted root-cause analysis and remediation. I was responsible for delivery of continuous improvement audits (5S) following objective assigned by senior management. During this time, I acquired advanced knowledge of a broad range of equipment, including HPLC, FTIR, and UV spectrophotometry. Notable achievements include: • Successfully delivered manufacturing material to meet required quality, cost and yield • Modelled and developed a safer autothermic process for the making of a chemical intermediate for a dye manufacture • Successfully modelled several manufacturing processes to keep up the RFT rate (right first time) • Improved the physical form of batch material in the purpose to increase batch profitability • Assessed reactions for chemical process safety through the use of reaction calorimetry • Improved yield and selectivity of reaction in a process using a statistically designed experiments and statistical analysis of data, i.e. Multivariate Analysis • Improved 5S performance of the lab, i.e. housekeeping and system efficiency (received award from senior management) Show less
