  I promoted to Facilities Coordinator in July 2010. Duties consisted of (Sr Tech duties as well) staffing coordination and scheduling, heading the preventative maintenance program in place, determining cost savings and energy management. I have also been heavily involved in renovations throughout the hospital, from minor changes in room dimension to equipment change outs, as well as involvement in the expansion of a new bed tower and Orthopedic building.

  Shortly hired in as a maintenance tech to take care of the day to day house call duties. Duties could range from hanging pictures for management to minor electrical work in a patient room. Customer service skills were a must, as well as thinking on the go and a will to learn more. This eventually lead to a promotion of Sr. Tech a short 2 years later. Upon hire as a Sr, job duties included overseeing technicians in their house calls and training where needed, control of the preventative maintenance of the facility utilities that included 3 1500 kw generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and various other equipment. I became familiarized with Joint Commission practices and organizing information as needed to accommodate management during inspections. Duties were plentiful and were not limited.

  Maintain the upkeep of public areas and private rooms in the hospital. Responsibilities included changing damaged VCT, patching holes in walls and painting, installing wall protection in areas of need, and to maintian beauty by keeping all areas freshly painted when needed. This included a keepstock of materials for multiple jobs, as well as mainting a working relationship with different contractors and the supply house.
