Ben began his eleven year contribution to MGM when the COO of his previous employer (Caesars Entertainment) became the Chairman and CEO of MGM. Throughout those years he developed extensive talents in controlling fast-track developments that exceeded expectations of cost, quality and time. The company Internal Audit group promoted his development process as the “Model for Development.” The highlights of Ben’s responsibilities included: • Reported to CEO • Directed conceptual and master planning for more than $20 billion of new development projects and integrated this planning with senior management of MGM Resorts International. • Responsible for strategic planning of capital investments including forecasting of project scope, costs, schedules and risks. • Founded and oversaw the daily operations of the MGM Grand Resorts Development Group. The MGM Grand Resorts Development Group annually managed some 25 projects including infrastructure, new development, new products and annual capital improvements for 5 existing integrated resorts. Ben hired all key project personnel. Departments directly reporting to Ben included project management, design, construction, procurement, finance and accounting. • Creation of all internal systems and procedures for the development group in cooperation with the company legal, financial, regulatory, risk management, operational, auditing and marketing departments. • Assemble compatible teams of designers, engineers, consultants and contractors • Signature authority for contracts and check writing of approximately $800 million annually. • Reporting of project status to Board of Directors. • Technically supported the business development teams seeking to acquire gaming licenses nationally and internationally.
