The Associate for Youth Ministry (Youth Minister) serves families and teen youth in the community: leading/facilitating weekly youth group gatherings, service opportunities, fundraisers; coordinating youth mentors and volunteers; organizing annual mission trips, pilgrimages, and retreats. As a staff lay minister, the associate leads public prayer services, consults on liturgy, worship and fellowship activities of the church community, and advocates for issues pertinent to youth and families. In addition to serving teen ministry, the youth minister serves as Co-Chaplain for Trinity School’s lower campus (Preschool-PreK), leading weekly children’s chapel. Show less

SCCA Canvassers travel around the County of Sonoma organizing county residents on the grassroots level about environmental issues in the county. SCCA is a non-profit informational group and it also serves as a political activist and watchdog group as SCCA campaigns for and against various local political decisions/candidates and keeps a close eye on the voting records of all county politicians. The Faith and Leadership Project is a sub-group of the national Episcopal Service Corps located in Sacramento, California. Responsibilities include: 5-10 hours of community volunteer work per week (Kindergarten teacher's assistant), weekly participation in a community dinner between interns, weekly spiritual reflection (critical thinking conversations with spiritual leaders), that one must be enrolled as a full-time student, and that one meets once per month with a spiritual advisor for follow-up. Our program worked closely with Church of the Incarnation to develop a space for reflection and devotion, discussing philosophies, religious traditions, and personal experiences. Taize, prayers of many cultures, rituals from around the world, were examined, experienced, compared, contrasted, as we sought to inquire deeply with one another. Positive Images is a non-profit organization in Sonoma County that supports LGBTQ youth and young adults. Intern responsibilities included being present at all board meetings (often times acting as board secretary), being present at all weekly support meetings, maintaining the downtown center location, answering organization phones, answering and providing counsel for the Sonoma County LGBT hotline, visiting local colleges, secondary schools, facilities, and detention centers with informational panels on diversity, providing supportive suggestions for LGBTQ youth and young adults.
