- Developed a research project aimed at identifying mechanism(s) underlying the development of tolerance to morphine.- Developed a novel time course for the onset and decay of analgesic tolerance to chronic morphine treatment in guinea pigs via sub-cutaneous administration.- Assessed tolerance to morphine in both in-vivo (paw pressure analgesic test) and ex-vivo (Longitudinal muscle-myenteric plexus (LM/MP) preparation) models of tolerance.- Performed Western Blot protein analysis to identify changes in protein abundance between control and treated animals at each point of time course in the LM/MP and the brainstem.
