I am pleased to recommend Ben Jacek, who has worked with me for over three years. When Ben was a lifeguard at our pool, he approached me to mentor him on a paper he was writing for school, since he knew that I was a part-time journalist. After mentoring him over the summer, I hired him to work freelance on special events that my public relations company produced, When I saw his social media capabilities, I added him to my public relations team. He has scheduled and monitored the social media campaigns for several of my national clients, including The Capitol Steps, Mount Holyoke College Jazz Ensembles’ production of The Big Broadcast; Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative, and the new podcast Game Changers in Medicine, powered by Dramatic Health. Ben actually developed an Instagram campaign for The Capitol Steps, which has helped the political satire group reach a younger market share. Ben is loyal, dependable, polite (important in a public relations firm), and a great team player. When I was sidelined after an accident, he was able to work independently and managed some of my projects seamlessly. He’s an excellent communicator. (I work as a journalist in print, radio, and television. Ben co-wrote five feature stories with me for The Westfield News, a daily newspaper in Western Massachusetts; he recently appeared as a guest on a nationally-syndicated radio and television series I produced, offering a young adult’s perspective on the COVID19 pandemic as a first responder). Ben has been the subject of a couple of articles that I’ve written about mentoring. Ben is an exemplary employee who became an outstanding colleague and a good friend. I can recommend him without hesitation.
