Deputising for the Director on all matters and ensuring deliverance of highest quality of event medical cover across England at over 22,500 events each year, with multi-million-pound income generation. Leader for change programme, tailoring strategies to improve quality of charitable output, leading team to research and trial new ways of working and standardise high quality innovative processes.As part of my Head of Planning role, was Project Lead for the recruitment and training of 30,000 volunteers to support the NHS Covid-19 vaccination effort. Created and developed a strategy to achieve the largest peacetime deployment in St John Ambulance’s history. Co-ordinated senior staff from multiple directorates across the charity, along with undertaking contract negotiations with strategic partner organisations.

As the Head of Event Operations in North England, I was accountable for ensuring the delivery of operational activity across a broad geography with multiple customers, as well as internal and external stakeholders. To achieve this, I established a management structure of sizeable and geographically dispersed teams, consisting of volunteers and employees working together at all levels. My scope of responsibility extended into Ambulance Operation, Emergency Planning, and other specialist functions. Effectively executing my responsibilities, my department contributed millions of pounds to charitable revenue.Key Programme: Merging of North West and North East regions into the North Region, combining teams to adopt the best practice and process across the new region. Key Contributions:• Recognised as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and advised on, as well as developed national policy.• CQC Registered Manager accountable for the delivery of safe, well led, effective, and responsible operations across the region and meeting any regulatory requirements.

This required me to quickly learn and manage by objectives to improve performance. I am currently in the process of working with a newly established team to deliver £60k worth of un-budgeted major events revenue which has been secured for delivery in 2012.

Working closely with the Head of Service for the Ambulance Service for several years, I performed a key role in developing and shaping the commercial service. I worked with key stakeholders such as the County Clinical Team to ensure that the business achieves its commercial objectives while ensuring quality of the highest standard. Key Activities New Business: Having identified a market opportunity, undertook a trial with the local trust and wrote a tender bid to win the contract ahead of 17 competing companies. Healthcare Regulation: Worked with the CQC on the private ambulance pilot and delivered regulatory compliance within SJA through the development of new systems and team work.Managing Change: The healthcare regulation in April 2011 meant significant changes needed to be implemented rapidly and effectively. Provided reassurance to staff and working closely with NHQ to ensure delivery of the standards.
