Sarah Sobczak
Ben and I worked together during the first few years of JetInsight (I was the 5th employee, I believe Ben was the 8th). At that stage in our company, each prospective candidate was interviewed by every member of the team in a grueling 8 hr, back to back gauntlet style interview. We had interviewed multiple candidates, but none had the unaminous, enthusiastic "YES!" vote from the rest of the team (which we really wanted at that stage of startup), until Ben came along. What impressed us first and foremost was his ability to connect and find common ground with each member of our team. The second thing that stood out to me was that unlike most sales professionals, Ben was very genuine and did a lot more listening, peppered with thoughtful, insightful questions than the other candidates we had seen. Although he did not have an aviation background, we were very confident that he would learn quickly given his experience in the Hardware/IoT space, which is very technical. We unanimously and empathically decided that we needed Ben on our board as the first member of our Sales and Business Development team. Over the next two years, our customer doubled and then quadrupled, thanks to his hard work and tenacity. I was consistently impressed by Ben's ability to land large accounts and decimate our competitor's market share. If you're looking for someone who can learn quickly and take your sales organization to the next level, I cannot recommend Ben more. And beyond being a talented and successful salesman, Ben is also a fantastic human being who brings laughter, a deep sense of professionalism and pride to his work, and pushes everyone to be the best they can be in their roles.
