Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) is one of the largest suppliers of insurance services to local governments all around Australia. In Queensland, JLT provides workers compensation insurance to the local governments of Queensland through a scheme called Local Government Workcare. This position has allowed me to broaden my case management skills, particularly when working with challenging subsections of the population. The position also requires for most files to be managed remotely, while Council-appointed RTW Co-ordinators implement recommendations made by the Injury Management Consultants based in Brisbane. If a Local Government Area is close by, then I do try and get out there to visit workers who require intensive help in order to facilitate a return to their normal duties.

Provided a number of high quality services to a number of different insurers in both the NSW Workers Compensation, and also to clients who are part of the Comcare national workers compensation insurance scheme. Provided: - Worksite Assessments - Suitable Duties Plans - Comprehensive Ergonomic Workstation Assessments - Pre-employment Medical Assessments - Case Management Services - Activities of Daily Living Assessments - Functional Capacity Evaluations (Short Form) During my time at Konekt, I was able to maintain a 100% same employer return to work rate for all files that had a goal of same duties, same employer in the RTW hierarchy. This result was achieved for more than 50 cases that came across my desk. I also serviced clients located in a variety of remote locations and in challenging circumstances, and rallied to ensure that they received the best possible care compared to their regional and metropolitan counterparts. While this isn't easy, I maintained the RTW rate that I had achieved in the face of difficulty. This position also helped me with the development of strong negotiation skills when working with small employers who were unable to provide suitable duties to their employees, or decided not to offer duties to their employees, to still achieve outcomes for injured workers.
