St. Mary's is a long-standing, 18 month long rehabilitative residential program for teen boys. After beginning at St. Mary's in August 2022 as a Residential Counselor, I was promoted in October to work as a Case Manager. In my role, I provide individual, group, and family counseling services for the clients on my caseload, each of whom have histories of sexually harmful behaviors. Additionally, I cultivate and craft treatment plans and special intervention programs to help clients experience socio-emotional growth and move toward community re-integration. A core component of this involves partnering with other managers to help guide and train to staff to implement trauma-informed approaches for therapeutic care with high levels of efficacy. Show less

    • Associate Pastor
      • Sep 2018 - Apr 2021

As an Associate Pastor, I had a unique opportunity to help the church navigate both unexpected ministerial challenges (Lead Pastor changes and COVID-19) as well as the common difficulties of life. I provided Biblical education and pastoral counseling to the congregation, while also building a youth-ministry from the ground up. I had the joy of employing a revolutionary new approach to youth ministry and seeing students thrive relationally and spiritually as a result. During COVID-19, I also helped the church coordinate and provide food for a free, weekly, drive-thru community breakfast. I was the first line of interaction with community members and prepared food according to food safety guidelines. Show less

    • Behavior Specialist
      • May 2017 - Aug 2018

For two consecutive summers I served on the Behavior Team at Ray of Hope: a camp environment provided by Rebound of Whatcom County for children ages 5-12 who have high trauma and high poverty backgrounds. As a member of the Behavior Team I provided leadership and relational training to the teaching staff. I would also be brought into the most challenging situations in order to facilitate de-escalation and provide counseling support. • Resource Room Para-Educator
      • Nov 2016 - Jun 2018

During my time at NES, I served in a variety of roles within the Resource Room. In the beginning of my position, I focused largely on 1 on 1 behavioral support for students on the Autism Spectrum (or others who had additional learning needs) and also provided small group instruction for those who needing growth in reading comprehension. By the end of my time, I was in a specialized position providing mentoring check-ins and cultivating an alternate recess for students who could not join their peer groups due to behavioral or physical complications. Throughout both periods I provided additional behavioral support and de-escalation interventions for students in need. Show less
