My primary role is being 1st and 2nd line IT support for the firm's network, software and IP telephone system. I manage user's network, email accounts and monitor server performance and usage. I have specific roles to manage the Anti-virus, Legal form software and Intranet, but also help to maintain the rest of the network. The firm has specialised solicitor software for holding a client's details and correspondence letters, forms and documents. I support the user with enquiries with this software as well as maintaining the database when changes have be made, for example, change in Legal Aid fees for billing purposes. There have been several IT projects that I have been given a major role in planning, organising and implementing. I organised the replacement of the telephone system in the 5 branches and maintain the links between the branches that are spread across Nottingham. I researched various CRM software and selected the one that fitted the purposes of the firm the best. I then installed and trained staff to use the software. I planned, designed and implemented the firm's Intranet using CMS software with extensive use of PHP, MySQL and CSS. Other programming tasks involve programming Word Macros to simplify the printing of documents on letterhead and coloured paper. Show less
